INI hosts a fund raiser for Surfers for Autism

March 5, 2010

I love working for these guys.. As you may recall we had the opportunity to help promote their last concer event in Ft. Lauderdale.  Since then, Don Ryan, President of SFA, has been responding to surfers all up the East Coast asking about their concert.  So the demand grew and the need for a true concert series evolved and the “Wish List Jam” was born.  On March 13th, in 2 seperate counties, we have 2 sister events happening at the same time. A total of 8 bands have donated their time and SO MANY sponsors have donated funding and prizes. The goal of the event is to raise money for the “Wish List.” A list that was designed to let everyone know just what the intention of these parties was about. “We need these items to operate effectively,” explains Don.  Surfers for Autism, in two years has increased the number of events from 1 in 2008 to now 8 total for the 2010 season. That is significant growth. Please come out to either event and show your support. The Space Coast jam to happen in Indialantic, FL is here.   And the Treasure Coast Jam is happening in Stuart, FL can be found here.

Phil generously volunteered his time Sunday and shared his music with over 1000 cyclists today. The Tour De Cure is a state wide series of fund raisers for the American Diabetes Association. Cyclists choose from 10, 30, 60 or even 100 mile routes. Each cyclists has an individual fun raising minimum of $150.  Some individuals raised over $5,000 alone.

INI plans on coordinating more music for events such as these in the future.

You can find Phil and Over the Void at the Hustler bar on March 13th playing for the “Wish List Jam.” This events proceeds benefit Surfers for Autism.

More on that event very soon. RSVP here.

Boy wonder at Fishbone show.

Boy wonder at Fishbone show.

I thought this was pretty clever.. You have to realize I thought this guy had really “LOST IT” when I saw the lopsided parrot do. Then his date stood next to him and I realized. This freak show intentionally styled his hair in this fashion in order to compliment his dates red hair.. Then I says.. well that is sweet.. then I realize he may not like to be considered “sweet” with his studded belt, chain wallet, steel toe boots and hooligan trousers. Perhaps I will remain opinion less and decided that it is the RASTA concept I admire and therefore I should not pick on the matching couple for being too “hard core.” I love shows in Orlando.

Fishbone rocked the house by the way..

Do I hear a round of applause?

February 9, 2010

Perhaps the applause is from the success of the  Surfers for Autism “Locals Only” Awareness Jam. Or perhaps it is because of all the fuss we created when we decided to sponsor Doctors Without Borders for the month of February. Unless, of course, it stems from a super interview I had with April, from The Movement Within, that aired on Feb. 1st.

No matter what the praise is for, we are super appreciative. Our success is inherently dependent on all that our fans have encouraged us to do.  We were super stoked to be a part of the Awareness Jam for Surfers for Autism.

Things are quickly moving right along.  INI looks like we are taking some bands on the road.  I know most of our fan base is familiar with the band Mystic Roots. And as we do every year about this time, we bring them back for Spring Break. And it looks like we will be introducing another band to join them. Please welcome to the INI family 3052 Dub Collective. The tour will feature both bands and include 2 weeks of shows throughout Florida strarting on the first of April in Orlando. So please come out and show your support for reggae music.

Also on the agenda, we are taking the Resolvers on tour in late April and completing a festival tour throughout the Summer. So stay tuned in for more on that.

INI Productions is proudly sponsoring the 25th Anniversary of the Melbourne Beach Rotary’s Pineapple Man Tri which does not happen ’til June.  INI helps events like this with their social media efforts. Become a fan here. So we will keep you informed with that as well.

Let INI know if you have a campaign or cause that needs promotion. Our services are located here. We do offer consultation for businesses as well. Ask about our “90 Day Kickstart” program. This service instructs those with or without an online presence to properly employ Social Media and shows them how to D.I.Y. effectively and efficiently.

Stay Irie.

How can INI help you..

January 26, 2010

I have to share something that I learned today. So stop what you may be doing and give me 3 minutes of your attention.  Let’s pretend that reading an INI blog is your deep breath  everyday that you consciously focus on.  So as you start each morning, for instance, with a cup of tea or coffee and catch up on your e-mail, incorporate this blog within your routine. I am attempting to create a more frequent blog if you promise to enjoy it as your morning ritual. There, I am honored to have you as an audience. I am blushing.

Now then, I am learning that within each day as we strive to make the world smaller via Social Media, i.e. this blog, Facebook pages and Twitter profiles, we sometimes get caught up in “making it big.” Hopefully,  creating enough exposure to produce a better professional image for your business or yourself.  As I am constantly connecting to create community and develop online relationships with those that are like minded, I sometimes get absorbed in the thoughts of, “What is in it for me?” or listening to WIII FM.

I often debate on what to share or retain for my own eyes, acting like a filter for my readers and viewers. I am determined to NOT become “that guy” on Facebook that has a Trigger happy-esk (of or like being one who suffers from possessing trigger happy traits) forwarding syndrome. INI will not go there (unless that is your wish ;p  ) As another form of rationale, I ask, “What makes my discretion anymore superior than yours?” RIGHT? What am I, mainstream media?  I have no business judging what may be in your best interest. I am not a fan of Farmville..(GASP) but who am I to say you can have fun or not with it.  Besides, the whole benefit of Social Media is to enjoy a censorship free web 2.0 experience. Correct??   So now I offer another question. What is my role as someone who aims to capture an audience and involve them in my online circle? What benefits can I offer my readership? How do I make a difference today?

And that brings me to the title of this article. How can INI help you..?

  • I am content with the role as facilitator. Someone who allows and encourages others to perform at their best.
  • I excel in helping others with their Social Media campaign and offering consultancy. I am  satisfied by providing  services in whatever capacity you can afford.
  • I can help promote  a cause you need exposure for. Or show you how you may want to go about it on your own time.
  • I can help you understand capturing, editing and uploading videos and slide shows for others to see on your web channels.

So in all that I do and have done, what I learned today is that  I don’t need to be any more for anyone than what I already am. I am an individual that cares. I am one person trying to help others. I am an activist. I am like so many others. Offering to be there when no one else may be. I am a dot. And we all are dots. Reduced to our simple actions that define our very worth. No matter how big of an ego you may have, without the other dots you can not be a part of the big picture. The big picture is what happens when you connect all of us. Together. Allow me to be a dot in your world. Let’s connect.

Thank you, John Suwell of  All Things Healing for your wisdom and inspiration. And thank you for referring me to Paul Hawken, the author of the  concept of  “connecting the dots.”

Happy New Year from InI ….

January 4, 2010

Untitled InI wishes you the very best for this upcoming year. We hope everyone has had a marvelous holiday season. Unfortunately, it has to end and now we are  faced with the reality of getting back to work and enjoying the hustle that is our lives. The new year does give us an opportunity to reflect on the previous year and, unique for 2010, the last decade. This reflection process allows us to grow professionally and personally.

Personally, we are able to decipher between the tired habits that have plagued us and the challenges that returned huge rewards in self discovery.

Professionally, we were able to judge , objectively I hope, our performance in all aspects of our work. Including but not limited to, our relationships with others, our relationship to Mother Earth and our relationship to our community. As you evaluated these relationships, you should have become aware of your emotions regarding each of these areas.  Your relationship with others category should bring some smiles, perhaps tears even, as you reflect on all those employees hired and fired and  clientele or consumer market gained or lossed. As for the  relationship to Mother Earth category, you should feel proud that you have helped in one way or many. You may be asking, “whats that got to with me professionally?”  Well, has your business adopted any new “greener” policies? Green business is a growing and everexpanding industry with all kinds of promise. If you haven’t decided to “green” your business yet, INI can help. INI has “Adopted a Shore” in 2 counties of Florida. Now holding weekly cleanups. Invites coming your way.

which takes one percent of your profits and funds programs that help the local ecology. These are a couple of examples of what you can do to be a better, more responsible business. Finally, the relationship with your community should muster up a tear or two. Hopefully you or your employer sponsored a surf contest or Reggae concert which brought in additional funds for someone in need. And you were able to see through your volunteering efforts or sponsorship contribution, how an individual or huge corporation can change the lives of those around you.

As I have reflected this past weekend, I have to say I was pleased, overall, with InI’s contribution in ’09. And after an intense and comprehensive assessment, I have come up with a plan to spotlight, as a promoter it’s kind of a speciality, an individual cause or charity for each month. This month InI is sponsoring (drum roll)

“Surfers for Autism” Uploaded with the Flock Browser - http://www.flock.com

Congratulations to Don Ryan and his team for doing so much good in 2009.

InI has decided to throw a fundraising event on our facebook group page.

SFA is throwing a fun party at the end of the month featuring a lot of really cool bands at one of Ft. Lauderdales most beloved venues, Revolutions Live.

So please visit this event on Facebook and RSVP

Also, buy a shirt or Rasta band here.  And let InI know if we can assist with your event or include you in one of ours.

ONE LOVE  in ’10
